It has been more than hundred years since California wine pioneer Jean Laurent quarried stone from the base of Glass Mountain in Napa Valley to build his wine cellar. That cellar stands today and serves as both a literal and figurative link to the past and Laurent's guiding principles of quality and values. In 1978, Bruce Markham, a California businessman with a passion for wine, purchased the old winery and launched Markham Vineyards, the parent of Glass Mountain Wines. From the beginning, Bruce Markham's vision was to make quality wines, while contributing to the preservation and growth of the wine industry. As a result, The Markham Winery has developed a reputation of high regard as a producer of world-class wines. Commitment to producing exceptional wines has earned Markham the cover of Wine Spectator magazine and a steady stream of accolades from the press. – Description from JasminaDragoljevic

  • Joseph Cattin 2017

    Snoothrank:

I have always felt that the region of Alsace was the forgotten wine region of France. With Bordeaux, Rhone, Burgundy, and Champagne always in the wine media, Alsace keeps cool and quiet in the background and lets the other regions make all the noise. But Alsace likes it that way and enjoys its small town ways along with its wonderfully unforgett... Read More

  • So on a whim we decided to visit British Columbia. But we flew up to Washington, so visited a few places there too. Totally off the subject of wine, I found an awesome bakery in Spokane and the girl there served me this thing that I thought was a kind of Parmesan cheese foam. In fact it was fermented cashew whip, which was definitely weird, but ... Read More
