Tensley Syrah Santa Barbara County Colson Canyon Vineyard 2001

Winemaker's Notes:

90 points Robert Parker: The 2001 Syrah Colson Canyon Vineyard is a serious, hand-crafted effort. Its saturated ruby/purple color is followed by gorgeous aromas of graphite, espresso, chocolate, jammy black fruits, and a hint of spice. Complex, rich, full-bodied, and long, it may be even better than my tasting notes suggest. Drink this impressive, artistic Syrah now and over the next 10-12 years. Drink: 2003-2015. (Aug 2003)

In 2006, our production reached 3,300 cases and included seven single-vineyard Syrahs, the most in Santa Barbara County. Though we've grown in size, our philosophy has never changed - source the best fruit possible and let the vineyard speak for itself. For tasting and wine purchases, please call, order online, or stop by our tasting room. The Tensley Tasting Room is located in the scenic town of Los Olivos in the heart of Santa Barbara County wine country. In the same tasting room is Carina Cellars Wines, these Rhone style wines are also produced by Joey with the same degree of quality he gives to his own label. Read less
