Starmont Merryvale Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 2012

Winemaker's Notes:

87 points Connoisseurs' Guide: Its steady aromas of ripe plums, dark cherries and loam are overlain by a light dusting of cocoa, and its moderately deep flavors follow suit, yet this wine finds that its early appeals tend to recede just a bit as it coarsens and gives itself over to lots of grippy young tannins. While its price might imply that it is intended for early service, its rough and ragged manner contrarily indicates the need for no less than another four or five years of age. (Apr 2016)
