Sagelands Cabernet Sauvignon Columbia Valley 2003

External Review by Premier Wine & Spirits:

This is a really nice Cabernet. It's very oaky, but the acidy structure and sappy, fresh young blackberry fruit provide more than enough counterpoint to all that sweet wood. The tannins are just beautiful. An incredible value in New World Cabernet.

This Washington State treasure is sure to please, with dark berry flavors and spicy oak intermingling with raspberry jam hints. Try this wine paired with beef brisket and fire-grilled root vegetables.

Lithe and appealing for its deft balance, offering currant, plum and delicate spice aromas and flavors that bounce smoothly through the well-formed finish. Drink now through 2010.

Good dark red color. Currant, black cherry and licorice on the nose. Moderately dense and suave, with flavors of currant, fresh herbs, mint, spices and chocolate. Finishes with smooth tannins and a lightly herbal quality.

Firm and nicely focused to show off its pure, clear currant and berry flavors, which laser through the mildly chewy finish. Drink now through 2007.

Crisp, juicy and lively with raspberry-tinged currant and cedar flavors, which echo on the slightly tart finish. Drink now through 2005.
