this shiraz is really fruity, spicy, peppery, full of kick! it really needs to be paired carefully, though--it will overpower most things. it just begs for a really good deer sausage!

Although is is a 91 pt wine according to one expert, I found it in the N.H. Liguor Outlet drastically reduced to $9/bottle from $20. I thought it was o.k. but certainly not a 91pt wine. It reminded me of the jug wines we used to buy years ago. There had to be some reason it was not selling! Would be good to use as a red sangria base.

My friend Eric brought this wine to a party last weekend. It was fantastic. I didn't want my glass to be empty and was truely sad when it was over. The best shiraz I've every had.

Great Wine at a great price from the PA Wine and Spirit Chairman's special.

Vanilla, oaky, spicy, cherry nose. Flavors are smooth, lightly spiced with hints of chocolate, and nice round smooth silky tannins.

Wow ... opened a bottle of this last night and was blown away. I gave this a 4.5 out of 5 simply because at the price point this is an amazing wine. Value wise I'd be hard pressed to find something better. Throw in great packaging and this is just a great everyday wine.

Great wine that is drinkable by white and red wine lovers. Good flavors could drink this all night.

A Syrah wine from South Australia in Australia. 2007 R Winery First Class Shiraz 750ml

Amply endowed at 15.5% abv, this is a full-bodied, rich and velvety example of McLaren Vale Shiraz from winemaker Chris Ringland. The menthol, vanilla and black cherry notes are straightforward but pure, with nothing to distract from the bold fruit and tasty oak. Drink nowandndash;2015.

The pricier 2007 Boarding Pass First Class Shiraz was aged for 18 months in French and American oak. It exhibits a glass-coating opaque purple color, an expressive nose of smoke, lavender, bacon, and licorice leading to a structured, slightly lean Shiraz that should evolve for 2andndash;3 years and will hopefully fill out its frame.

The 2007 Boarding Pass Shiraz contains 5% Viognier which provides a floral lift to its Cote-Rotie-like bouquet of bacon, smoked meat, and blueberry. Seamless, complex, and layered on the palate, it is way too good to sell for $18. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate. In the superconcentrated shiraz mode, this is a thick, rich stew of a wine, serving up smoky scents to match barbecued pork ribs. The wine saves itself in the end, bold and intense rather than heavy, giving some visibility to its black fruit flavors.

Ripe and tangy, with a juicy feel to the texture from lively acidity and a flavor profile that balances dark, spicy cherry flavors with tomato salad notes. Not a typical Shiraz. Best from 2011 through 2015.

The deep crimson-colored 2006 First Class Shiraz contains a dollop of Viognier. It was barrel-fermented and aged in new and one year French and American oak for 18 months. It has an alluring bouquet of cedar, mineral, tobacco, smoked meat, and blueberry. This leads to a full-bodied Shiraz with enough structure to evolve for 2ndash;3 years. It has excellent depth, savory black fruit flavors, plenty of spice, and a lengthy finish. It will offer prime drinking from 2011 to 2020.
