Ponsot Griotte-Chambertin Grand Cru 2012

Winemaker's Notes:

94+ points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): The 2012 Griotte-Chambertin from Laurent Ponsot is another one of the ringing successes in the cellars this year, as the wine offers up a dramatic bouquet of black cherries, plums, grilled meat, cocoa, dark soil tones, woodsmoke and a really lovely topnote that I can only describe as 'sweet herbs'. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and very sappy at the core, with great focus and balance, impressive, nascent complexity, ripe, refined tannins and exceptional length and grip on the young and oh, so promising finish. This will be a legendary vintage for the Ponsot Griotte. 2025-2075. (Nov/Dec 2013)

Domaine Ponsot:
Domaine Ponsot wines are traditional wines and our production methods stay away from modern trends. This is a conscious choice we have made, rather than something that stems from an occult belief in what is known today as 'non-interventionism'.
