Murrieta's Well the Whip White Blend Livermore Valley 2016
Winemaker's Notes:
When we create The Whip each vintage, we look to deliver a wine with aromatic appeal that provides a textured and delicious palate, and has the presence and crisp finish to be an excellent food wine. We are fortunate to grow several aromatic white varietals on our estate, such as Viognier and Orange Muscat, that provide beautiful fruit and floral expressions. We use those varietals and others to accentuate the rich and full palate provided by our estate Chardonnay and Semillon enhanced by the wonderful natural acidity of our Sauvignon Blanc. This helps us deliver a complete wine that tells the story of our estate each and every vintage. Enjoy now through 2021

Editorial Reviews for Murrieta's Well the Whip White Blend Livermore Valley
Orange and tangerine notes are lightly floral and creamy with fresh minerality and hints of lime zest. Fresh, perky acidity on the palate with creamy orange notes, tea leaf and a finish of green apple and floral white peach.
43% Chardonnay, 15% Gewurztraminer, 13% Sauvignon Blanc, 9% Orange Muscat, 8% Viognier, 5% Pinot Blanc, 4% Semillon, 3% Muscat Canelli Very floral on the nose with some woody spice notes adding sweetness to the core of peach, nectarine, and orange marmalade fruit all topped with a hint of oily pine nut. A little residual sugar makes this somewhat sweet on entry, though the sweetness is subsumed by the bitter orange and peach fruit in the mouth. Very floral inner mouth perfumes add complexity here, as do a touch of wood spice and minerality on the finish, which is lengthened by the lingering effects of the sugar. This is a fairly big and assertive wine, and as such would be a great choice for spicy Asian food that features flavors of ginger, or lemon grass, all very much in the same vein. 87pts

Add your reviewExtremely enjoyable white blend from Livermore Valley. Apricot, orange creamsickle, a touch of honeysuckle, nice acidity and a medium finish. There's some nice layers and a bit of a viscuous mouthfeel.
Primarily Chardonnay, with Semillon and 4 other supporting varietals; light golden straw color, grapefruit and melon aromas, honeydew melon flavor with a touch of citrus zing, this is well-balanced; at $19, good QPR.
Managed to snag a bottle from wine.com. Sadly, it's no longer available. It's luscious, fruity and special. Bought it for under $20, it was a bargain! A lovely sip.
