Muratie Wine Estate Port Blend Stellenbosch Cape Vintage 2014

Member Review by chriscage:

Appearances of black cherry coloration with hints of residue around the rim of my port glass...nice legs that dribble down the side of the inside of the glass. Aromas of licorice, oaked dark fruit, slight booze, Earthy berry tones and a mild lingering finish of mulberry, cranberry and dark cherries. Flavors that follow suit, with blackberry, black cherry, mulberry and raisin qualities....the mouthfeel is somewhat harsh and finishes astringently dry, and weirdly has a quick clean character. It's good but I wouldn't call it great...not enough sweetness or robustness, but it is not Port, and I'm appreciating what the Cape has provided me!
