External Reviews for Langoa Barton

At its peak. Medium-dark ruby, with an amber edge. Cherry, coffee and cedar aromas. Medium-bodied, with sweet berry flavors and caressing, velvety tannins. Delicious, but slightly disappointing for this château.--1982 Bordeaux horizontal. Drink now. ... Wine Spectator. A Bordeaux Blend wine from Bordeaux in France. 1982 Leoville-Barton 750ml

Red-ruby. Aromatic nose of currant and leather. Sweet and round with a slightly candied roasted fruit character. Nicely full and rich in the mouth. Finishes with lush smooth tannins. Not far behind the Leoville-Barton in quality and perhaps better for current consumption. 89 points Stephen Tanzers IWC.

This traditionally made, old style, extremely dense, powerful wine requires another 7-10 years of cellaring. An opaque dark garnet color is followed by aromas of sweet cedar, old wood, truffles, smoke, and underbrush. Big, thick, juicy, black currant... Robert Parkers Wine Advocate.
