The name “I Veroni” comes from the wide terraces bordering the yard of the farm, on which tobacco leaves and grain cultivated in the plain along the Arno banks were dried up. From the Guidi it passed to the Gatteschi family which, in 1809, built the first stone tank for wine fermentation, partially visible today inside the historical cellar. After the first part of the 19th century the property passed to Modigliani of Rufina family and at the beginning of the 20th century the firm was bought by Carlo Malesci, and it still belongs to his family.
