Farnese Fantini Montepluciano d'Abruzzo 2013

Member Review by raindance:

Mariano's 8/2015. Revisited this old favorite varietal, that I used to acquire by the case, before I fell into the "so many wines, so little time" mode. It's ability to bring the confusion(?) of tastes normally associated with more tannic cellared reds is but one reason why I like it. Oh, and the price tag, too. Superb with spaghetti and my four ingredient sauce.

Farnese Vini:
Farnese Vini is a wine label and importer based in southern Italy. The wines are primarily produced in the Abruzzo region, with expansion into Puglia and Campania. The company is named for 16th century Princess Margherita d’Austria, wife of Ottavio Farnese, who planted the initial vineyards in Abruzzo. In addition to value-driven, quality wines, the company also produces grappa.
