Errazuriz Max Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon 2016

External Review:

The 2010 Max Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon is aged for 12 months in mainly French oak. It has an uncomplicated nose of blackberry and bilberry fruit while the palate offers rounded saturated tannins with dark chocolate and black olive interlacing the blackberry fruit. It is nicely composed towards the finish. Drink now-2016. -Neal Martin Robert Parkers Wine Advocate.

Errazuriz was founded in 1870 in the Aconcagua Valley, 65 miles north of the capital, Santiago, and at the foot of Mount Aconcagua, the highest peak in the Western Hemisphere, and one of the seven summits of the world. Recognizing that this valley was ideal for growing grapes, with its hot, dry summers and cool Pacific Ocean breezes, Don Maximiano Errazuriz sent for the finest clones from France, and with tenacity and perseverance transformed this barren land into a world-class vineyard. Today, the tradition lives on with Eduardo Chadwick, the fifth generation of his family to lead this exceptional estate. Eduardo’s work has been colossal, bringing Errazuriz into a new era where it is acknowledged as a producer of world-class wines, and opened eyes around the globe as to Chile’s incredible and diverse sites. As an estate winery, Errazuriz strives to produce the finest wines through meticulous attention to every stage of viticulture and vinification, from grape growing in the Aconcagua, Casablanca and Curico valleys, to winemaking with the most natural techniques. An emphasis is placed on the delicate handling of the wines, with the aim of producing wines with elegance and complexity. It is this dynamism and passion for wine that has made Errazuriz such an internationally respected producer of quality wines. Check us out at www.errazuriz.com Read less

The Max Reserva Cab 2006, I confess, a buy I made based on a 90 point rating sticker on the bottle - the first time. I have gone back for more and would say the rating is well-deserved. Dried fruit and cedar on the nose, rich red fruit & cab profile with good viscosity and tannic backbone on opening. Everything gets more supple & luscious after an hour or more of decanting. Enjoy this wine with or without food but over an evening or two. The flavor and aroma are great upon opening, but they deepen after decanting. Freshly opened, it is great with roasted red meats. Re-cork and try some the next day... it is even better for sipping. Try pouring a glass and leave it for an hour... if you can resist it for that long!

Weingut: ErrázurizLand: ChileRegion: AconcaguaRebsorten: 91% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Cabernet Franc, 2% Petit Verdot, 1% ShirazAlkoholgehalt: 14,0 Vol. %Säuregehalt: 6,0 g/lRestsüße: 2,25 g/lInhalt: 0,75 lEmpfohlene Serviertemperatur: 16 - 18°CFassreife: in Barriques gereift (15 Monate) Lagerfähigkeit: 7 - 10 Jahre ab Jahrgang Rotwein > Chile > Aconcagua Valley
