De Martino Chardonnay Legado Reserva 2007

Winemaker's Notes:

The De Martino Legado range was developed to showcase the varietals that define the terroir of the best areas of Chile; Chardonnay from Limari, Syrah from the Choapa Valley, and Cabernet Sauvignon and Carmenère from Maipo. The results are wines that express the true character of each region. The Chardonnay from the Limari valley was hand harvested and upon arrival at the winery and are hand selected prior to being crushed. Prior to the onset of fermentation the juice is kept in contact with the skins in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks. Following fermentation the wine is aged for 12 months in new French oak barrels.

San Martino Winery & Vineyards:

San Martiño Winery & Vineyards opened its doors in the spring of 2004. We are a small family-owned winery specializing in handcrafted wines using modern techniques but with a traditional “soul” borne in the fertile lands of northwestern Spain. The village of San Martiño, (see picture below), located in the mountains of the Galician region, has been making traditional wines for hundreds of years. It was at the village of San Martiño that our love and knowledge of wine and wine making techniques started. Through years of watching and helping our family in the vineyard we came to appreciate the special relationship between people, their land and the food they grow. Our Texas winery was created by borrowing from the traditions of the San Martiño village and its people, the tenacity and resolution of our family and learned modern wine-making techniques. Our heritage is rich and although we are not Texas largest winery, we aim to be the best!. Here you can watch us grow and participate with us as we travel together in this adventure because we know that without you we are not. Tasting Notes:

“Legado” Chardonnay has a golden yellow color and an appealing fresh fruit aroma with hints of apples and minerals. On the palate the wine is full and elegant with an excellent balance of acidity that lingers in the mouth.
