Good wine to have alone or with chocolate

There is an attractive and obvious heavy fruit (cherry the most pronounced) and liquorice front to this wine. The finish is a little rough (some tannins) but should be fine with meats. Well worth the price.

Notes:Intense, dark ruby color with enticing aromas of ripe, black plums and black currants. The richly textured plum and currant flavors are joined by accents of dark chocolate and some vanilla-scented oak. The ripe, vibrant tannins give the wine beautiful structure and an amazingly long finish. This is a big wine for just a little money. Drink it now or over the next few years to enjoy the fruit flavors at their best. It will pair well with traditional Cabernet-friendly foods like grilled or roasted meats. - WineryVineyard: The vineyards for this cab are all estate owned vineyards and from two areas of Lujan de Cuyo - Agrelo and Ugarteche. The vines are all ungrafted and average 28 years of age.Orientation: The average elevation of the vineyards is 3,350 feet.Viticulture: All of Susana Balbo's vineyards are sustainably farmed. It is purple-colored with a classy nose of cigar box, cassis, black currant, and violets. Medium-to full bodied, it has excellent depth, savory flavors, ripe tannin for balance, and a lengthy, fruit-filled finish.

The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon contains 5% Malbec in its blend. It was aged for 9 months in seasoned French and American oak before bottling without fining or filtration. Notions of Asian spices, incense, violets, black currant, and blackberry set the stage for a slightly lean, savory, flavorful Cabernet meant for drinking over the next 3-4 years. Offers a solid core of dark, ripe black currant and blackberry notes framed by light tannins and a dash of mocha on the finish. Drink now. 15,000 cases imported. -NW

Bright red-ruby. Aromas and flavors of ripe currant, leather, smoke, bakerrsquo;s chocolate and dried herbs. Smooth, lush and ripe; a satisfying, seamless cabernet with fine-grained dusty tannins and nice length. This punches above its weight class.

Susana Balbo is very high on Mendozarsquo;s 2009 vintage, calling it a ldquo;fantastic year.rdquo; The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon spent 5 months in seasoned French and American oak. It is purple-colored with a classy nose of cigar box, cassis, black currant, and violets. Medium-to full bodied, it has excellent depth, savory flavors, ripe tannin for balance, and a lengthy, fruit-filled finish. It will evolve for 1ndash;2 years but can be enjoyed now and over the next 4ndash;5 years.

Big and woody to start, with heavily toasted blackberry and herbal aromas. The palate is thick, dense and tannic, but it doesnandrsquo;t punish. Tastes of cassis, blackberry and herbs before transitioning to dry oak and roasted berry on the finish.
