Concannon Vineyard Syrah Blend San Francisco Bay Stampmaker's 2003

Winemaker's Notes:

Wine Tasting Notes Has primary aromas of ripe dark berries, cherries, spice, and tobacco, with notes of violets and menthol on the palate, while the full, rich tannin structure supports the wonderfully complex fruit character. It has a long, lingering finish with berry fruit, floral notes, and a subtle, toasty oak quality.

They could speak, the rocks of Concannon Vineyard would tell a tale rich in history. Concannon’s treasured contributions to winemaking have positioned it as landmark winery with an enduring commitment to creating outstanding, award-winning wines. We have a history of proud firsts. We were one of the first wineries to pioneer Bordeaux and Rhone-styled wines in California. We are the home of America's first successful Irish vintner, the world's first Petite Sirah and world-class wines from our fruitful, rocky soil. As a founding family of California wines, Concannon created the hardworking Cabernet Sauvignon Clones 7 and 8, which helped plant much of Napa in the 1970s. Pioneering founder, James Concannon, began making wine in the Livermore Valley in 1883. Now, his passion for family and fine wine is evident in every aspect of Concannon Vineyard and we’re fortunate to share it with you today. Read less

A California Syrah, which maybe my first ever, as I have always hung with Australian and French types. This bottle was dry and full of berry flavors and spicy which I look for in my favorite Syrahs.

LOVED IT! Rich ripe dark berries, Crisp cherries and spice, with notes of violets and a hint of herb on the palate. The full rich wonderful fruit character pleasures the palate with a long lasting berry to finish acented by sweet floral notes, with the slightest toasted oak. I was so happy I got on Closeout at local grocer for $5 So Pleased!
