Chateau Mayne Guyon Blaye Cotes de Bordeaux 2011

Member Review by jbiddy007:

At first the wine is a little earthy, then as we let it sit for about an hour...the aroma of wild flowers and Asian spice linger, while providing a surprisingly smooth yet bold finish...good wine for dinner parties and makes a nice gift.

Assholes this is a Blaye Cotes de Bourdeaux and you don't have this in your data base. I have no idea how to get this in. This is annoying!! My Rating 85: very dry uninteresting flavor. at least it's clean. Nose is weak and also clean. You must be a snobbish francophile to enjoy this very much

Ok red wine - good for everyday usebut to flat and unexciting for special occations. Grear value for a weekday dinner wine

i think it's better than the other reviews here lead you to believe. it's nothing special but does have a nice vanilla/cedar scent and the tannins are nicely balanced with the flavors, a quality only the french seem to be able to accomplish in the cheaper wines. got mine at trader joes for about $7 and i think i've tried every wine they sell in this price range and this is one of the better ones. nice to drink but it's not going to knock you out with layers of flavor but for $7, it's not the usual sour tannined piss swill that most of the US wineries try to get you to drink. this is exactly what $7 wine should be but, unforgivingly, rarely ever is.

I'm pretty inexperienced at wine tasting, but i'm trying to learn. for me, chateau mayne guyon 2004, has a nice aroma of woody fruits, probably along the lines of something dark like black berries. The aroma doesn't linger very long though, maybe for 2 or 3 seconds. it might be my inexperienced tounge, but i didn't get much of a taste in the tongue just a hint of sweetness, but i did get a strong berry feel while it went down my throat.
