Brunello di Montalcino la Casa DOCG Rotwein Trocken Edel Ausgebaut In Eichenfässern Und Barriques Tenuta Caparzo Toscana Sangiovese Grosso Brunello 2001

Winemaker's Notes:

"...Caparzo has turned out a beautiful 2001 Brunello. It is a delicate, understated wine with classic Sangiovese nuances of cherries, tobacco and underbrush on a medium-bodied frame. It shows excellent persistence and a very attractive perfumed quality on the palate along with firm tannins and a long, fresh finish. A year or two of cellaring will be beneficial, but with some aeration this is a delicious wine to enjoy today. Tasted again two days after opening, the tannins had softened significantly and it was quite lovely...90." WA 12/06

Tenuta Caparzo:
The “Caparzo” name seems to originate from Ca' Pazzo, as seen in several ancient maps. The vineyards, cellars and all wine-making equipment were developed towards the end of the 1960s, with progressive adaptation and constant up-dating of both the land and the cellars. Innovative cultivation systems and, in particular, several clones are still experimented today on the estates - extending over an area of 190

Caparzo's 2001 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva is made in a more powerful, masculine style than the normal bottling. A dark ruby, it reveals outstanding definition in its smoke, earthiness, tobacco and black cherries with notable energy on the palate.... Robert Parker. A Sangiovese Grosso wine from Tuscany in Italy. 2001 Caparzo Brunello di Montalcino Riserva 750ml
