Muscat Blanc on Snooth

  • Cheval Quancard Cuvee Hortense Prestige 2018

    Snoothrank:

You see: you do not have to pay an arm and a leg to drink good white Bordeaux; this wine proves the rule... a pale yellow in the glass with an electrifyingly spicy gooseberry nose. So far so good... and entry does not disappoint: smooth white fruit such as kiwi, lychee and gooseberry on the palate, with a clean finish. An excellent wine for th... Read More

  • If you haven't had wines from Romania, you’re missing out. Big time!I know this is a bold statement. With so many amazing wines being produced worldwide today. But, with that being said, I am convinced that there should be room in our cellars for some good bottles of Feteasc Neagr (Black Maiden in English), arguably, the most renowned native gra... • Mirassou Moscato NV

    Snoothrank:

Sweet white wine with hints of pear, peach, and perhaps cotton-candy grapes. Wet to start with a slight dry finish, but not tart or bitter. Light and refreshing, surely a party favourite or delicious enough to enjoy on it's own after dinner. I think this one gets unjustly overlooked and should definitely be considered a spring/summer classic Read More

  • I'm digging this thread out of the pile since I had an opportunity last week to do some exploring of the Livermore wine scene.Being the nerd engineer that I am, I keep spreadsheets on all kinds of things much of which are wine related.  I have one spreadsheet labeled "California Other" with tabs for wineries in regions like Livermore, Amador, Sa... • After all the Christmas and New Year festivities, I have to escape for a good curry! We all have a favourite curry but matching these exotic dishes with wine can be tricky. Come to think of it, I often drink lager! But, as restaurant lists improve giving more thought to your wine can brings tasty rewards.   The spicy flavours of Indian food are ... Read More

  • Allure California Bubbly Peach NV

    Snoothrank:

Alcohol makes itself known on the first sip as it is higher than other peach sparkling wines in its class, but a sweet mellow peach follows thereafter. Nearing the end of the glass, the peach becomes pronounced and it can be easily forgotten how strong it can be until finishing off a second glass. Not much fizz, which works for me because I do... • Murrieta's Well the Whip White Blend Livermore Valley 2016

    Snoothrank:

Orange and tangerine notes are lightly floral and creamy with fresh minerality and hints of lime zest. Fresh, perky acidity on the palate with creamy orange notes, tea leaf and a finish of green apple and floral white peach. Read More

  • One can travel all over Italy and still have no sense of Sicily, as Sicily is like no other place. It is probably one of the most diverse regions in Europe with not only a long history of a multitude of conquerors, but to this day, an evident openness to various cultures. This open attitude towards diversity is expressed by the architecture, foo... Read More

  • Villa Jolanda Moscato & Strawberry 2009

    Snoothrank:

Fizzy, sweet, strawberry candy, all words that I would describe both this wine and a soda. Having unnoticeable alcohol, I suppose it would be more correct to call it a hard soda. Pretty bottle, nothing offensive, but also nothing unique. Perhaps a safe date-night choice, but missing the Moscato flavour per the label. Read More
