  • There isn't a Valpolicella grape.  It is made from a blend of Corvina, Molinara and Rondinella grapes.Amarone is expensive because they don't get as much juice form the partly dried grapes as in a usual pressing of fresh fruit.  That and it isn't released for at least three years from harvest.2004 was a very good year for Amarone and this bottle... • Famiglia Pasqua Amarone 2010

    Snoothrank:

Ruby red with a tinge of brick in the glass. Dark fruits on the nose that change to red and raisins when drank and some earthiness that reminds me of sweet edler berry wine. Acidity is light and the tannins are smooth with a short finish. Read More

Creamy and quite sweet in the mouth, this remains clear on the palate with lovely balsamic toned prune, dried cherry and wild strawberry jam flavors that leads to a modest finish with some peppery spicy nuances. This is soft an... Read More

  • Recioto Della Valpolicella la Roggia 2010

    Snoothrank:

Huge aromas of raisins, dried blackberries, black cherries are joined by accents of bitter chocolate, black tea, and leather on the complex and deep nose. This is relatively sweet, with huge acids keep this lively, if quite creamy with black cherry fruit laced with vanilla on the palate. Theres a lot of spice and floral accent to the palate tho...
