I want to order a German wine

Posted by puppysonny1, Sep 9, 2008.

Hi, I was wanting to order some German wine. I found some trollenger red wine from the Heilbronn area ( stiftsberg estate ) I clicked the link buy now, and the web page that I was taken to was all in German. I don't read German, so I was not able to navigate the page to place an order. How can I order this wine? Do I need to go through another distrubuter?

Snooth is a global price comparison website. Therefore, when you click the "Buy Now" link, you are transferred to a retail partner's web page. It sounds like you got sent to a German website... who wouldn't have been able to deliver the wine to you in the US anyway.

I looked around and couldn't find any evidence that that particular estate (Stiftsber) exports its wines outside of Europe. However, you can find many examples of Trollinger available on Snooth. Just make sure to spell it with an I instead of an E. Also... Trollinger is sometimes called Schiava... especially in Italy.

Thanks for the info, RBoulanger. I will search the site and hopefully spell that correctly. I am interested especially in wines produced in the Baden Württenberg area. IF you know of any good ones, let me know! :-)

I enjoyed plenty of Trollinger last time I was in Baden Württenberg. However, I don't think I've ever seen more than 3 bottles of it in the US!
