gin drinkers and the wines they like

i am not out to prove anyting with this query, just wondering.  i love good quality gin and i obviously love wine too.  although i like a variety of wines, i seem to have a special affinity for sauvignon blancs and rieslings.  have any of my fellow gin drinkers noticed similar patterns in themselves?  do fans of other liquors/spirits gravitate toward different wines from me?

all theories welcome.

I'm a gin girl (Plymouth) and I drink mostly Italian and French reds, with Nebbiolo being my overall favorite grape.

Bombay Saphire drinker, new favorite red wine (highly recommend) is Chateau Saint-Roch, Chimères, Grenache & Syrah, Cote du Rousillon, France, 2008

Can't drink gin at all, though can drink just about everything else. Nonetheless, like SB (though not anything typical from NZealand) and rieslings very much...

I used to like Sapphire, but I now think it pales compared to some newer stuff, such as Hendricks, Botanist (also Scottish...from Islay), and my overall favorite Martin Miller's (made with glacier water...literally).  Magellan and Citadelle probably are better in that super-botancial, lighter range that Sapphire occupies.  I highly recommend all of those, although I do like martinis made with Plymouth.

For wine, I prefer Champagnes and many, many reds.
