Wine Talk

Hey everyone,

first I would like to start by saying this is not an endorsement or advertisement for this organization, I simply want to know if anyone here has had communications or interactions with them.

garagiste is based out of Washington, they produce a list serve with pretty decent deals on up-and-coming wines, some of which supposedly are not yet commercially available in the US. I have purchased approx. 24 bottles from them and am waiting on delivery (they only deliver twice a year, as they deliver via refrigerated service). A lot of these wines are suppose to be real dust collectors, as they are young and can last up to 20 or more years in the cellar.

Has anyone else dealt with this list serve? I would like other peoples feedback just in case I find out I am throwing my money into a black hole.

the website these guys are found at is If anyone would like to give testimonials or their opinions of what they see, please let me know. I would very much like to hear what the snooth wine community has to say.

Thank you for your time.

When I saw the thread title, I thought you were going to be talking about right-bank Bordeaux reds, like Le Pin.

Don't know anything about the online vendor 'garagiste', but I tend to make my orders from any new vendor small at first, so I can check out how they do business, the condition of the wines, etc.

Hope your order turns out fine, and will be interested to see if anyone else on this forum has done business with them. What kinds of wines did you order from them?

I have bought a little wine from garagiste in the past.

The deals are usually solid but i can't handle John's hyperbolic emails so I removed myself from the list. I have been to Garagiste tastings, where all the wines were offers from Garagiste and have found that about two thirds are real values.

They are a reliable operation with many fans.

I hope that is helpful.

Lots of fans. Occasional real deals.
