It's not often that you can buy something considered to be the best of the best without breaking the bank, but Concha y Toro's Don Melchor is one of those things. Named after local politician and businessman Don Melchor Concha y Toro  and  considered by many to be Chile's top Cabernet Sauvignon (it's been in the Wine Spectator Top 100 numerous times). the wine is a blend from 6 sections of the Tocornal Vineyard, planted in the mid-1970s,  with an addition of Cabernet Franc in some years.

Tasting Notes for the 2011 Vintage: handpicked 99% Cabernet Sauvignon/1% Cabernet Franc grapes; 15 months in French oak barrels; a deep but vibrant red in color; dark fruit, spice, herb, and cocoa aromas; tart red berry, mocha, stone, and dark fruit flavors; lush mouthfeel with a beautiful balance of fruit, acid, and tannins; very good now but should improve with cellaring; cork closure; SRP $125.
